Connection and Creativity in Welches
Stop and snap photos of the colorful fall foliage and stunning views as you travel along the Mt. Hood Scenic Byway (OR Hwy 26) to the resort community of Welches, one of the “Villages of Mt. Hood,” located on the historic Barlow Trail segment of the Oregon Trail. Our Fall Watercolor Exhibition and all of our weekend activities will take place at the beautiful Mt. Hood Oregon Resort Convention Center. A block of rooms with a group rate for WSO members has been reserved at the resort.
We begin our convention weekend with the New Member Orientation followed by the Opening Reception on Friday, October 2. Saturday’s fun and interesting events include breakout sessions, two juror critiques, and a panel discussion. On Saturday evening, we’ll have a social hour followed by the Awards Banquet where awards will be presented in real time! On Sunday, we encourage everyone to attend the Business Meeting to learn more about what’s happening in WSO and then watch our juror, Ron Stocke, give a lecture and demonstration to close the event. Ron’s workshop, “The Four Fundamentals of Watercolor” will take place Monday through Thursday, October 5–8. See the Ron Stocke Juror Workshop article on pages 31–32 for more information.
