2023 Fall Convention Chair
Welcome to the Willamette Valley and the Watercolor Society of Oregon’s 2023 Fall Convention! We look forward to hosting artists and watercolor enthusiasts who will inspire you in your artistic endeavors. With the leaves changing color and the weather cooling down, Salem is lovely and lively, with lots to do and see, great food and fun adventures.
Our 2023 Fall Convention will again take place at the Salem Convention Center. The Grand Hotel is conveniently located next to the Convention Center.
We will begin this exciting weekend with a Meet and Greet on Friday evening, getting to know new and old friends. On Saturday there will be ten breakout sessions plus two juror critiques. In the evening we’ll host an Exhibition Reception at Elsinore Framing and Fine Art Gallery, just two blocks away, where you’ll see the 80 accepted paintings. The gallery will be open Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sunday from noon to 4:00 pm. After the reception, we can enjoy a no-host Social Hour, followed by the Awards Banquet at the Salem Convention Center. After the Sunday morning Business Meeting, our Juror Trish McKinney will give a lecture and demonstration.
Trish McKinney’s exciting workshop “Chasing Wonder” at the Willamette Heritage House will start Monday, October 9, and continue through Friday, October 13.
