This year’s fall convention with Ron Stocke offered many ways to expand our creativity and friendships, all amid the warmth of Mt. Hood Oregon Resort. Fall color was everywhere. We started with the Meet and Greet in the welcoming Altitude Room with lots of chattering and visiting.
Saturday morning began with a variety of classes on the second floor of the resort. A special touch at the banquet was celebrating WSO’s 60th birthday with a three-tiered cake made by Michelle Myers. Butterflies were provided for members to write how they contributed to WSO. Michelle even made edible butterflies for the lovely cake. Thank you, Michelle!
Awards were presented at the dinner ceremony in the Huckleberry Room, with Ron Stocke sharing his comments about the award-winning paintings. Congratulations to everyone who submitted paintings, the artists whose work was accepted, and those who won awards. There are so many lovely paintings on display at Mt. Hood Oregon Resort until Nov. 2!
The business meeting focused on finding new volunteers for important responsibilities within the organization and fostering a sense of community. Members also participated in a drawing for 34 thank-you gift cards for volunteers. Several new members have accepted volunteer positions. Watch for how you can volunteer for the Spring Convention in Corvallis, OR.
