Instructions for using ArtCall

Please visit the Watercolor Society of Oregon website. Click on Exhibitions, then click Guide to Entering a WSO Show. This page has detailed instructions about the WSO requirements for show submission. Read through the page carefully — it contains important details such as the submission deadline, entry fees, and what types of artwork are accepted. Make sure you understand all of these requirements before proceeding.

ArtCall.org is the online service we use to manage submissions for our calls for art. It keeps everything organized and secure. The process has three main parts: creating your account, registering for the call, and submitting your artwork.

Using the ArtCall Website

  1. When you are ready, return to Exhibitions and click Submit Artwork. On this page you will find links to two pages: one with detailed instructions for entering the show, and a second that takes you directly to the ArtCall page for the upcoming show. If you have previous experience with ArtCall, you can proceed directly to registration. If you are a new user, you may want to follow the detailed instructions first.
  2. If you already have an ArtCall user account, please log in to that account now. If not, click the Register Account link and ArtCall will take you to a Create User Account page.
  3. On the Create User Account page, enter your First Name, Last Name, and Email Address. Use an email address you check regularly — all updates, including jury results, will be sent there.
  4. Create a Password. Choose something you’ll remember, or let your browser suggest a strong one and save it.
  5. Click Create Account.

Once your account is created, you’ll be prompted to fill out your profile.

  1. Fill in all required profile fields.
  2. When finished, click Update User Profile.

Note: You can come back and edit your profile at any time before the submission deadline.

Part 2: Registering for the Call

If the call has a registration fee, you will be asked to pay it at this point. (This call is in demo mode for testing and will not require payment.)

  1. Enter your credit card information. This is processed securely by ArtCall.org — we never see your payment details.
  2. Click Submit Payment.

Note: ArtCall.org currently accepts credit cards only. If you need to pay another way, please contact us before the deadline and we’ll work something out.

Part 3: Submitting Your Artwork

After registering, you’ll arrive at your My Submissions page. You may submit up to two images. Each image entry will be added separately using the following steps.

  1. Click Add New Submission.
    Note: There is a 60-minute time limit for entering your submission details. Don’t worry — if you need more time, just click Submit Entry Details to save your progress, and you’ll get another 60 minutes. Your information is also auto-saved every minute.
  2. Please note the submission requirements listed below.
  3. Fill in the following fields:
    • Category — choose Water Media Painting
    • Title — the name of your artwork
    • Height and Width (in inches) — do not include the frame
    • Approximate Framed Height and Approximate Framed Width (in inches) — the dimensions of the final framed submission
    • Verify that your framed dimensions meet WSO’s requirements, then check the checkbox to confirm.
    • Verify that your painting has been completed within the last two years and check the checkbox.
    • Review and accept the Terms and Conditions. Click the Terms and Conditions link to review, and use the back arrow to return to the Entry Submissions page.
  4. Click Submit Entry Details.

Upload Your Image

  1. Click Attach File and find the image on your computer, OR drag and drop the image file directly onto the upload box.
  2. Click Upload.
  3. Your image will appear in a simple editing tool. Unless you need to crop or rotate your image, just click Done.
  4. Wait for the upload to finish before doing anything else. You’ll see a progress indicator.
  5. Once complete, click X or Got It to confirm.

Your artwork has been submitted!

To submit a second artwork, click Add New Submission and repeat Steps 10–18.

After You Submit

  • You will receive a confirmation email from ArtCall.org with a link to view or edit your submission.
  • You can make changes to any part of your submission (details or image) right up until the submission deadline. You can also delete an entry and replace it with a new entry if desired. A maximum of two entries are allowed per show.
  • You will be notified by email once jury results are available.
